How does one stop chest pain after a car wreck?

My bf had a car wreck a few days ago. He went to the hospital got checked out and everything is fine. His chest hit the steering wheel and air bag exploded. He has taken his pain meds and it is too soon to take the next dose. Any suggestions on what he can do to ease the pain until time for the next dosage?

First thing he should do is call his doctor if he has one, if not possibly try an ice pack, but not for too long, just try and see if that makes it better or worse if that doesn’t help try a little heat on it.
