Thank You for answering my questions and here it goes:
All day long i have been trying to find hermit crab cages. I would find the ones like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B0015PMBDS/ref=dp_image_text_0?ie=UTF8&n=3375251&s=sporting-goods
But i don’t like them because they are small and seems to me that the crabs would hate it and,it would be hard for me to put my stuff in.
Can you find some cages and please include a link. All i want is a cage kinda like a rabbit cage without the bottle contected that you put the water in. If there are any cages like that out there please let me know, and try for it to be less than
$10 and if not between $10-$15. Thanks for your time
i will say this again i was something LIKE a rabbit cage but NOT with the bottle i know how to care for them and they got old then died so now i am getting new ones BUT need a cage
hermit crabs hate metal. Getting them a wire or metal cage is a bad idea.
The cage cannot be properly heated or hold the required humidity. It’s also wide open to allow mites or other pests into the tank.
In order to keep a hermit crab healthy you would need a glass tank with a glass or plexi glass lid. There are lots of climbing toys you can put into it to allow the animal to climb.
unless you’re going though freecycle or used aquariums you’re not going to get a proper set up for under $15
hermit crabs live to be over 30 even in captivity. they die young because people don’t take the time to properly care for them. Please do your research and provide a proper habitat for the animals. They need high humidity in order to breath, and a cage like this one won’t cut it.
most products advertised as good for hermit crabs are terrible for them. Painted shells being the big one.
