Am I drinking too much water?

I drink 2.5 gallons of water a day, plus ~50 oz of coffee. I don’t drink anything else. On days when I do sports (softball, basketball), I might drink a little more. I have an office job during the day, but I generally workout or do physical DIY stuff until bedtime (another 3-4 hours). I only drink when I’m thirsty, but I’m pretty much constantly thirsty. My wife says my sips are abnormally large and I’ll generally drink one of those 16 oz bottles in one gulp. I have 11% body fat with low blood pressure. I don’t have any of the symptoms of hyponatremia.
I’m also not a fan of gatorade, it’s a half step up from koolaid as far as I can tell.

When your working out (sweating a lot), that much water alone isn’t good without added electrolytes. Hyponatremia is something that can hit you quickly. Symptoms are harder to predict.

I’m not a huge fan of gatorade or other sports drinks because of the high sugar content (high fructose corn syrup) but they do work well.

They do sell electrolyte drink additives that you can pour into bottled water. The kind I like say “flavorless”. Not exactly true, they taste a little like Centrum to me. Not bad, nothing at all over powering like sugar, but not exactly flavorless either.

Otherwise water is fine. I drink 2-3 liters a day as well. It’s pretty much my only beverage.
