What happens when water is in your ear for a long time?

I have had water in my middle ear since before memorial day. I have trouble hearing things on that side or mix up words when people talk. It doesn’t hurt but it is very annoying. My dad lost his job and his new one doesn’t give health insurance, also the new one is ending this friday so I can’t go to the doc until my sports physical in a couple weeks. I really hate not being able to hear and having that feeling in my ear. Is there anything I can do?

There should be some type of free clinic available in your area. If not, go to your nearest regular clinic and tell them the problem. You should qualify for some sort of health coverage. You may have to do a lot of checking but there are programs out there. The regular clinics like to hide them because then they don’t get paid as much as they’d like to. Make sure you bring a parent or guardian along or they won’t do a thing for you.

I’m really worried about your ear. That’s not normal. You may have an infection and you could lose your hearing in that ear if it’s not taken care of properly.
