MOVIE (80′s ?) about U.S. Volleyball team going to the USSR or Germany – lead character framed by woman spy

I vaguely recall that the movie is called “Spike” or “Volley” but none of these names come up under movie searches. The U.S. volley ball team goes to compete (Olympics/olympic trials?) in Germany or the USSR and the lead volley ball player meets a beautiful women that he spends the night with. Unknowingly, she slips top secret film (or data) in his pocket or backpack and I believe he gets caught when going back to the U.S. through customs.
This movie is similar to the movie, “Gotcha” starring the now popular Anthony Edwards (ER), but it’s not the same movie. It is slightly possible that the sport may have been another men’s team sport like water polo?? But I’m almost positive it is volleyball.
