Does using household softened water hurt outside tomato plants and flowers?

I have a choice between well water and household softened water to water my plants. There is no chlorine in the system just a sediment and a charcoal filter before the softening system. Will this harm the plants? I am concerned about the minimal salt in the water.

It shouldn’t make a huge difference. Softened water has more sodium and less of other kinds of minerals. But the amount of sodium won’t be enough to hurt your plants.
Between the two, I would go with well water. Why bother softening the water if it’s not good for the plants?
