Why does smoking after drinking alcohol or water give it a funny taste lingering in your mouth?
After you smoke say two cigarettes after drinking alcohol or water, you get that unpleasant taste lingering in the back of your mouth and the nostril…I dont get this after drinking fizzy drinks, coffee, cappucino or tea, only after I have drunk water or alcohol. Why does it do this?

It may be that certain chemicals are water miscible so after drinking then smoking they are better realized then without the drink. Why it happens for only certain drinks is a bit of a mystery. One thought is that other drinks may mask the dissolved flavors more than water or alcohol.
