Turn signal blinking double speed while headlights are on?

I drive a ’98 Jeep Wrangler Sport which I took mudding recently. Well a few days later I went to the carwash and pressure washed the entire underside of the vehicle until the water ran clear. Coincidentally when I drove later that night I noticed that my right turn signal was blinking twice as fast when the headlights are on (both high and low beams). If I turn the lights off while the signal is on then it will drop back to normal speed, if I turn the lights back on the signal will blink much faster. The left turn signal is unaffected by this and always blinks at normal speed. What in the world could be causing this? Did I mess something up when I was using the pressure washer? I know for a fact that it didn’t happen while I was mudding, it was after the carwash!

blinking fast does NOT mean there’s a short. it means you have a blown bulb… BUT, since it’s only doing it when the headlights are on.. there could be a short in your wiring. FIRST, replace the blinker bulb. If that’s not it, follow the wires from your headlight and blinker and see if there’s any exposed wires anywhere. If not, you probably need to replace the blinker bulb connection.
