What currency should i take to Turkey. Staying Lara Beach (Titanic Beach Hotel and Resort)?
I am going to Titanic Beach Hotel and Resort at Lara Beach, Antalya in October, and i have no idea what currency is best to take.
Ive read some reviews that most of the things at this hotel are charged in Euros. But i know i can get more for my money in Lira.
OUr hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere so id rather just take with me the currency i need and not have to bother exchanging it over there.
What would you suggest?
When you travel in Turkey, they will usually write the currency in liras or euros and I know places that accept dollars. I usually take my credit card and debit card and then go to an atm. (When you enter the country, you can purchase a visa with most major currencies and even a credit/debit card, but the first time I went it was down and i had 0 cash on me.). Your best bet is to take 50 in your native currency and any amount you want in liras. Call your hotel ahead of time to see if there is an atm located within the hotel or in the surrounding area (there should be). Just be sure to call your credit card company and your bank to notify them that you will be traveling outside of the country, otherwise they may not let certain charges go through.
Do not take traveler’s cheques, they operate at a higher exchange value and most places have stopped taking them anyway.
