No Fishing/Boating in the Great Salt Lake?

I just flew cross-country, and the route took us over the Great Salt Lake. It was a fantastic spring day, sunny and temps in the 50′s…yet I saw not a single boat on the entire lake. Don’t people boat/sail/fish/tour/whatever on that lake? It was the oddest thing to see no evidence of outdoor sports whatsoever on that amazing piece of water.

you can fish in the lake, its like 70% salter than the ocean. it would ruin the boat and i dont think anything is living in the lake. also, i dont think it would feel good on the skin.
