im only 15, could i have arthritis? help ASAP!?
im only 15, and i am on a rowing team, and before i was on the team, i noticed that when i write for long periods of time (half hour to an hour) my wrists hurt really bad. its really intense pain, it gets to the point that sometimes if im writing, it hurts so bad to the point where i have to literally throw my pencil down and wait 2-3 minutes before i can start writing again. with that said, i have a huge regatta this weekend with my crew team, and im having trouble feathering at race pace because my wrists start to hurt really bad, and sometimes my wrists go numb, and i cant tell if im feathering or not, and then if im not feathering, my oar catches a crab and i slow the whole boat down. i REALLY need someones help before saturday, i don’t know what to do about my wrists!
Arthritis doesn’t come and go like that and you are way too young to have it. You have over worked your wrists and they have the ligaments shortened up in them causing the hand and arm to be pulled together in the wrist so close to cause the pain. Here is how you can release your wrists to get rid of the pain:
Wrist:
With hand resting in front of you and your wrist bent half way closed, press down hard slightly behind the wrist and hold that pressure. After 30 seconds slowly open your wrist up as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your wrist open for another 30 seconds.
Do it now and when you feel them kind of going back into pain. In time they should stay released without having to do it.
