CREW HELP!! I NEED TO KNOW THE BASICS!! (:?
okay so i am gonna start crew (rowing) in highschool and i would like to get to know all about it . i already have a few questions to ask :
1- what does erg stand for? and what is an erg?
2- what is a good 2k time? i think i would be on the light weight boat.
3- what are the races like ?
4- how many different races are there? like 50 m or 100 m etc etc.
5- are there any more crew terms that it would be helpful to know ??
i am already starting to work out my body on the erg for about a month now.. and am adjusting fine to it…are there any tips and tricks on how to row better?
thanks so much i appreciate answers
erg doesnt stand for anything. Its short for ergometer which is a training machine that tells you how much power you will put into your stroke. But i dont know where you find them. A good average time for a 2k would be around 7 minutes. Thats a good time. Races are fun and you really want to push yourself because the atmosphere of the races is kinda intense. There are probably 4 different types of races.
