Black folks as a whole do u think that we have advanced as individuals or collectively as a group?

The reason I ask is because of situations like the Jena6 case and other issues that have come about in the black race. I sometimes wonder that even with all this good education and so called “corpoarte jobs” that we hold that we have missed the boat. I beleive that when we had less we actually had strength, better morals and we stood along side each other when our neighbor needed a hand. Nowadays we are so busy living in our $300 thousand dollar houses, drvining our lexuses and BMW’s, we have forgotten how and why we have gotten to this point. Sacafice and helping our fellow brother is how the select few have been afforded this. With all the education and money in the world, if u forget who u are and what the bigger picture is, none of this matters.

I think that we have advanced as individuals for the very same reasons you have listed.To some,it’s not about helping your fellow man because somewhere in that process of them trying to make it to the top,they’ve gotten greedy and I’m pretty sure that you’ve heard that “money is the root of all evil”.So at the end of the day,they’re not thinking of how to better themselves as a person or how to help the next,but how to better their pockets.
