stepping up my coxswain game?
heres my situation:
i am a cox for my high schools crew team, and city championships are in a week a half. I just started coxing in fall, but my coach thinks im really good(haha), ive been in the JV boats in all seven races (when a girl, whom the entire team dislikes, and has been coxing for like 3 years has been stuck with novices)
my coach is thinking of moving her to the JV boat for cities and putting me in the novice boat(grrr) but says we have to fight it out.
and our novice girls arent very good, and have no chance in winning cities and moving to nationals(sorry im usually optimistic)
but our JV girls are really good and work thier butts off and i love them and have a descent chance at nationals.
soooooooooooooooooooo… if anyone has some general tips on how to be more motivational, how to step up my game, how to win the coach over…. anything?!
this really means a lot to me…thanks!!
ask your rowers what they need to hear so you can increase their performance. be on top of direction all the time so the coach has no reason to get mad at you. Basically show the coach how responsible you are and the rowers how dedicated you are.
