The Titanic was revolutionary for its time. It was the first ship to have the Marconi radio transmitter and also the first ship to use the signal S.O.S. This was only after C.Q.B which was the more popular signal at that had not delivered the help the Titanic so desperately needed.

Morse Code worked extremely well on the Titanic and in fact, when the Titanic was sinking its Marconi system was communicating with Cape Race which was the land a pretty far distance away(not sure how far away it was exactly) and also ships that were hundreds of miles away including it’s sister ship the Olympic.

For the most part Morse code has not changed over the years and even though the technology has gotten extremely more advanced it still works on a set of dots and dashes that are equal to words and sentences.
